One Narrative

Jesus was tried before Pontius Pilot. Jesus remained silent the whole time. Jesu had to deny himself and carry His cross. Jesus took 3 nails into His body. One nail in each of His hands and one nail in driven into his feet. Jesus' purpose was to fulfill His Father's will. Jesus was sent to Earth to die on the cross to take way the sins of the world, and to save mankind from their unrighteousness. When Jesus died on the cross, the whole Earth shook, the clouds in the sky became dark, and the Temple split in half. Jesus gave up His spirit and descended into hell for three days and three nights. A roman guard came up and pierced Jesus' ribcage with a spear. Blood and water immediately came out of Jesus, and blood was splashed upon one of the Roman guards' face. The guard fell to his knees and glorified Jesus as Lord and Savior. After the death of Jesus, other Roman guards took Jesus down from the Cross. The nails were removed and Mary the Virgin Mother of God, held Jesus' dead body in her arms. This was the last time she held the Son of Man in her arms.

Architecture

Architecture is an awesome man-made project that includes forming structures on massive scales. Giant buildings surround many cities and small towns, from New Orleans the home of jazz music to the beautiful flat landscapes that surround the Delta. Every monument has true significance and their tough exteriors have stood the test of time. Making these exposures while working with the natural light is the way to having successful pictures.

Documentary / People at Work

This series of exposures was all about working the body, mind, and spirit. Focusing was the key to sharpening mental accuracy. Taking time to flex the thoughts while working out in the gym, working on bettering techniques in sports on the fields, or posing for the right shot for the very best display to win Homecoming Maid, all constitute work even though they are not being paid. Practicing drawing to become a stronger artist or working on getting hue balances just right in the dark room will continually better someone’s craft in this world of work. Each person is working on their form so they can become better at whatever it is that they are doing. Practice makes perfect and society wants and looks for the very best. Anyone who wants to be the very best has got to do the work.

Experiment!

Capturing pictures with very small apertures to pick amazing colors was key in this project. The best colors in low or bright lights only come out when the aperture is very small. I experimented with the printer for the first time trying to figure out how well the quality of the prints would come out. The quality of every print was turned out amazingly. I also experimented with double exposures, balancing lights and darks, people with flowers. Having the appearance of multiple apertures  with one small aperture gives a starburst effect.

Insects, Plants, Animals, Landscapes

This was an awesome experience to capture some of the most amazing colors in Mississippi. Grabbing shots of insects, animals, landscapes, and plants is an excellent hobby to take up. So much nature is out there, and it is so much fun being the artist to paint these amazing scenes with the lens of a camera.

Lady with the Lantern Exercise

This was an opportunity to capture pictures with the shutter open for more than 8 seconds. I used apertures as small as f/11 to f/18. Dim lighted areas created very interesting photos with very slow shutter speeds. Using a few auxiliary light sources helped to remake the idea of using a lantern wherever necessary. Capturing the "ghost" in each picture was the most fun and fascinating part. Seeing the transparency of a person blending in with a background makes you wonder, "Is this person figment of my imagination or is the wall sticking out of that person's head?"

Repetition of Form & Color

During your stay at Delta State University, you will be provided with the most vibrant and lively new living quarters. The people you meet will be your new family, friends, and secure supporters that will provide a strong foundation for your victories in the future. The faculty and staff from your classes will encourage you to look to the stars, spread your wings and fly for the sky is the limit. Keeping your head up with every step, having positive attitude and a smile on your face will create the image of success. While on campus, get some exercise and breathe the fresh, pure breath of life.
This week was all about capturing excellent exposures of beautiful colors and finding multiple objects.

What's Happening in Public Spaces

Now is the time to get out and see the world, the people in it, the places filled with fun, eat healthy, and exercise. We need to stay fit and active in this spinning world. There is a definite must to be around the place where human lives are striving for excellence whether it is your playing sports or going to the best local yogurt/ice cream shop.
